GROUND BOLOGNA Recipe
OK.. lets shake the memory on this one... Anyone from the 60's will remember having it. I still like it once in a great while.. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pound ring bologna, or ask deli to cut a pound hunk. Good quality stuff.
  • 1 dill pickle chunked
  • 1 sweet pickle chunked
  • 1 small onion chunked
  • Mayo to bind it together.

Directions
  1. In your processor:
  2. Grind the bologna, not to mush, leave it kind of chunky
  3. Put in large bowl
  4. Grind the pickle chunks
  5. Put in bowl
  6. Grind the onion
  7. put in bowl
  8. Add enough mayo to hold it all together...
  9. We always had this on plain ole white bread.. The fresher the better. Would pack these up and jump on our bikes and head to the lake...
  10. Ahhhh memories!
  11. Enjoy!

I remember my Grandmother making this using the old cast iron meat grinder that attached to the table with a clamp and helping by turning the handle for her.Great memories and good sandwiches too!


Yes! *grin* I loved this when I was a kid, although we always used dill pickles. We made it with ham, too, and used Ritz crackers as dippers. :)


Ooooooh Wee! My mama used to feed this to us when we were little and didn't know any better. All she ever put in ours was bologna, dill pickles and mayo. She still makes it from time to time but she can't seem to get the grands to even try it. Brings back memories.


Just ran across this......we still have it once in awhile too.
Remember this was used to make economical "Ham" salad finger sandwiches at parties......no one ever knew the difference!


I haven't had this but I still want a bologna and mayo sandwich every once in a while!!


Yep, deli bologna is good stuff. I like the dill on my Cotto Salami sandwiches. Nice post. JJ
