Love this recipe!

I have to tell everyone about this creation. At my book signing last week I had a mother and her daughter (7-8 yrs.) come in. I don't like chocolate and make my "Cracker Bars" as a sample for all of my signings. They are made with white chocolate which I love. It turns out that this little girl didn't like chocolate either but liked white chocolate. She and I talked a while about foods we liked and didn't and her mother bought her a copy of my book. She had me sign it "to Tara, my 1st big cookbook." The next day I received an e-mail from Tara. She said she and her mother made my baked spaghetti and she really loved it. She was picking out another recipe for she and her mother to make for dinner. I e-mailed her back and promised to come up with something just for her. So, Tara's Candy is for this little lady.

What a sweet story. You know they say "there are angels among us" and I do believe Tara encountered one at the book signing! So many people would have just blown off an 8 year old but you did not. In that moment you probably instilled a life long love of cooking just because you cared.
Have a blessed day,
Patti

Great story wonderful encounter and great recipe thanks

Can you just imagine how proud that young lady must be to have you name a recipe after her.

That was very kind of you!

I will be making Tara's Candy and sharing the story with others.

Thank-you

Kind Regards

What a sweet recipe and story! I'm definitely going to try this one! My sister can't eat chocolate because of the caffeine, so this should be perfect for her! I'll try it for Thanksgiving!

I didn't wait for Thanksgiving!!! I made this over the weekend. I had a problem melting the white chocolate. Totally my fault! So I used dark chocolate...(thats why I didn't post a pic)...and it was very good! The only problem with the recipe is when using "crushed" pretzels, it leaves about half of the pretzel pieces behind when you remove it from the muffin papers to eat it. My guests kept licking their fingers and sticking them to the leftover crumbs that were in the bottom of the muffin paper. I think I will try this again and instead of crushing the pretzels, I'll break them into small chunks. Its still a 5 fork recipe and I can't wait to try it again! Thanks Martha!!!

Try replacing the crushed pretzels with the little pretzel "snaps." They are the little square ones with holes in them. They look like windows. I've discovered that these work better than crushed pretzels.

Yep. The grands would love this.

Okay...I made this again, this time I broke up the pretzel sticks instead of crushing them. This worked out perfectly! I'll be making this for Christmas! Thanks Martha! I hope you like my photo!

I love your photo. Thank you so much. You can also use those little pretzel squares called snaps and won't have to break them up at all. I love this stuff. I've also made it with dried pineapple and that's good too.
