These are so cute! The kids will adore these little treats! I made these for the kids in my class and also for my grand kids to take to their class parties. They were such a hit!

Ingredients
  • 1 package oreo cookies (I use the ones with mint in the middle)
  • 1 package of semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 packages of white chocolate chips
  • 6 teaspoons of shortening
  • pencil pretzels
  • bugles
  • shredded coconut
  • yellow food coloring

Directions
  1. Melt semi sweet chocolate with 3 teaspoons of shortening in a pot while stirring over low heat until melted.
  2. Melt white chocolate chips with the other 3 teaspoons of shortening in another pot over low heat, stirring well until melted.
  3. Place sheets of foil on flat surface.
  4. Spoon out a little of the white chocolate (about a large tablespoon) to form base.
  5. Spoon a dab of the melted semi chocolate on top of white chocolate puddle.
  6. Dip a bugle (I make sure I use the ones that are have a nice opening at the bottom of the bugle)into semi sweet melted chocolate.
  7. Place chocolate bugle on top of chocolate dab(you may need to hold it for a couple seconds to help it stand up)
  8. In a plastic baggie, place 1 1/3 cups coconut and 6 drops of yellow food coloring in side, close and shake until coconut is colored a nice yellow.
  9. Lay a pretzel stick on white puddle, place a small amount of the coconut on top of one end of the pretzel to form the broom.
  10. Let sit until completely dried(about 15 minutes)
  11. I made a little poem to go with these which you can use if you like or make up your own little saying.
  12. POEM:
  13. A chocolate witch went flying one Halloween night
  14. Looking to give kids a chocolaty fright!
  15. But good boys and girls would have none of that
  16. So, they melted the witch, her broom, and her hat!

Great little witches high 5 thanks

Awesome! I can see why the kids loved these! Very nice poem, i'm impressed!

Cute! :-)

I once made something similar using coated sugar cookie cones -- they were really big though and too rigid looking for a witches hat. THe Bugles are a perfect idea because they have some imperfections and each one is slightly different from another.

My neice is going to love this recipe. Can't wait to try it w/ her. :) Thanks.

How cute!

I love your recipe! Its very creative and will be a big Halloween hit! Thanks so much for sharing it here!
