Ingredients
  • 1/4c butter
  • 4 apples,cored and cut in 1/2" rings
  • 1/2c dry white wine or apple juice
  • 1Tbs lemon juice
  • 1/4tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4tsp ground cinamon
  • 1/2c sugar
  • whipped cream,if desired

Directions
  1. Melt butter in 10" skillet over med. heat. Cook several apple rings at a time in butter,turning once ,till golden brown(add more butter if necessary.
  2. Return all apple rings to killet, Mix wine,lemon juice,ginger and cinnamon;pour over aples. Sprinkle with sugar. Cover and cook over medium heat about 5 mins. or just till apples are tender and glazed. Serve warm with whipped cream.
  3. Special touch: Create the ultimate apple rings when you top arm rings with thin slices of sharp cheddar cheese and sprinkle a few finely chopped walnuts.
