Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place scallops in bowl. Pour milk over. Cover and chill two hours. (This helps tenderize the scallops.)
  • Drain and pat scallops dry.
  • In large skillet, brown sausage. Add onion and saute until tender.
  • Add cream, salsa, mustard and wine to skillet. Cook until thickened.
  • Toss scallops in heated sauce and heat one minute.
  • Divide scallops and sauce between 4 gratin dishes. (Or 8 dishes if using as an appetizer.)
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle dishes with cheese.
  • Broil until cheese is melted and just lightly browned.

Sounds wonderful. I was curious, what is it that makes the sauce thicken?

Added pic. Haven't tried it yet. Fresh out of the oven and piping hot. Give me a few minutes.

Looks very nice but just thinking out loud, it might be looking even nicer with some breading in the dish.

My mother always made scallops when I was growning up. I'll share this one with her.
