I don't know about you guys, but we really don't care for sweet barbecue sauces which is pretty much what you end up getting with store-bought. This concoction made us happy for many years before we changed it up to dry rub!

I love home made BBQ sauce and I make plenty of it from scratch using fresh garden peppers from my organic garden.
This sounds great to me and the pic is wonderful to.
Five stars

Thanks, michael! It so easy to make and I'm sure it will be even MORE wonderful using your own peppers. Thanks for the 5 and enjoy it!

Ty for this i have to try it!! my husband hates bbq maybe with this recipe and a little luck we will be able to have a real BBQ!!

Oh and how long does this keep for u?

I think you, your husband and your four kids will all like this sauce, my4! We're not fond of sweet sauces and this one worked well for us. As to how long it lasts.. I used to jar mine using a 10 minute water bath but it could easily just be frozen. I like to freeze in bags because they lay flat in the freezer and take up less space. I'm really happy that you like this!

This looks sooooo good!!! I love making sauces, and always look out for news recipes to try! Thanks for the friend request, I think I will be visiting your pages a lot over the next few weeks! :D

It is a good one, sprout! I hope you like it as much as we do...

Dear Lorainne,
Paulette here happy to report that you just turned a bunch of ketchup into some mighty good barbecue sauce!!! I have a bunch that I got on sale and would rather have BBQ Sauce instead so with the help of your tried and true family recipe it shall be!
Thanks!
I love it on my meatloaves before it goes into the oven. It makes it extra moist and the top doesn't dry out plus gives it loads of flavor. My favorite store-bought BBQ sauce is Hunt's Brown Sugar & Honey Sauce. I'll check the exact name of it, but it has a really good flavor I think. There are tons of varieties of BBQ sauces. This will be an awesome addition to my BBQ's, Grilling, Rubs and Marinades Group! Thanks loads!

I ain't done looking at your recipes yet! It has been awhile since I saw what you've been making!

Yikes, Polly! Your making my head swell.. We've been using this BBQ recipe for a long time now and have not been disappointed. It's always nice to hear that someone else finds your "tried and true" recipe to be good too. Thank you for your five, polly.

There's alot of ingredients that I never thought about using.I ought to write this recipe down.It looks good for a few things that I do with the meat that I cook up and when my boyfriend bbq's out through the summer months.

I'm just glad you like the sound of this one, sandy! If you make it, enjoy it... Thanks.
