Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup White Baking Chips; melted & cooled
  • 3/4 cup Butter OR Margarine; softened
  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 1/2 cups Gold Medal All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Grated Orange Peel
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • About 18 Candy Orange Slices; cut into thirds

Directions
  1. Beat sugar, melted baking chips & butter in lrg. bowl with electric
  2. mixer on med. speed until creamy, or mix with spoon. Beat in orange
  3. juice, vanilla & egg (mixture may appear curdled). Stir in flour,
  4. baking powder, orange peel & salt. Cover & refrigerate about 1 hr. or
  5. until easy to handle.
  6. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place about
  7. 2" apart on UNGREASED cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 9-12 mins. or until set (cookies will not brown). Immediately
  9. press orange slice piece into center of each cookie. Cool 2 mins.;
  10. remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
  11. NOTE: I used mini fruit slices instead of orange slice pieces for a
  12. very pretty, colorful look!
