CALIFORNIA DREAMIN COOKIES

- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup White Baking Chips; melted & cooled shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter OR Margarine; softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup orange juice shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3 1/2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. Grated orange peel shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- About 18 Candy Orange Slices; cut into thirds shopping list
How to make it
- Beat sugar, melted baking chips & butter in lrg. bowl with electric
- mixer on med. speed until creamy, or mix with spoon. Beat in orange
- juice, vanilla & egg (mixture may appear curdled). Stir in flour,
- baking powder, orange peel & salt. Cover & refrigerate about 1 hr. or
- until easy to handle.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place about
- 2" apart on UNGREASED cookie sheet.
- Bake 9-12 mins. or until set (cookies will not brown). Immediately
- press orange slice piece into center of each cookie. Cool 2 mins.;
- remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
- NOTE: I used mini fruit slices instead of orange slice pieces for a
- very pretty, colorful look!

I love the use of the orange slices. Those always remind me of my grandmother or Nanny as we called her. The combination sounds really good.
