Found this on the internet and just tried it.
It reminds me of a co-worker's wife's rice From Connecticut.
It's so good.

I also like to cut up small pieces of pork chop and fry it in the oil instead of the bacon.

Sounds awesome, but ...
• what's Sofrito?
• what's Sazon seasoning?
Are there any reasonable substitutions?
Thx ~ Crystal :-)

Sofrito can be found in the frozen section in the grocery store, it is basically a mixture of onion, garlic, red and green pepper all blended together. goes good with lots of recipes. sazon is a seasoning. check your ethnic aisle in grocery store. hope it helps.

Hey guys,If younot find sorfrito or sazon in your local market.Try looking online at www.goya.com they sale it.Sazon is a saffron seasoning in a small packet .it helps with beans and also you use it to make yellow rice.Sorfrito is a tomato paste with peppers and onion and it may also have cilantro. We Puerto Ricans find it hard to make real food without it.Enjoy or as we say Buen provecho!
