Saurkraut Pork And Kielbassi Recipe
This one came from my Great Grandmother Minny, form Germany. And has past through thru 5 generations, that I have known.

Ingredients
  • 5-6 lb pork roast bone in
  • 1 sm. onion
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 27 0z. cans of saurkraut drained, fill cans with water and add to roaster pan.
  • 4 Tbs of light brown sugar
  • 1-2 lbs. of kielbassi cut into 2 inch pieces
  • couple shakes of caraway seeds

Directions
  1. Rinse pork roast and put in larg roaster pan
  2. Slice onion on top of roast salt and pepper
  3. Lid roaster
  4. Put in oven 325 for 1 hour
  5. Pull out Place on top of stove dump drained kraut on sides of roast add the cans of water, caraway seed, and brown sugar, bring to boil stir.
  6. Put back in oven, watching the water level, you don't want it to get to dry.
  7. 1/2 hour before serving add kielbassi.
  8. We always serve this with mashed potatoes.
  9. This is a very easy recipe, and it makes the house smell wonderful.

THIS SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS ...please tell me what is kielbassi?


This is the way my family has made it,too. back to my German Grandmother. the only thing different is we cut up an apple and put itin at the beginning. skin and all....not core ;-)
