How to make it

  • Mix together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Cut butter into dry ingredients.
  • Put one cup aside for topping; mix cinnamon into topping.
  • Add buttermilk and egg.
  • Spread into greased 9 inch round baking pan.
  • Arrange apples over top.
  • Sprinkle with reserved topping.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature

    I actually made this without the apples (because I was too lazy to hit up the store); it was sooo good! I actually enjoyed it best about a day after I had baked it because all of the ingredients got to get to know each other a bit. For sure will make this again & want to try out the apples on top. Thanks for sharing!!! :)
