Ingredients
  • 1 tube refrigerated sugar cookie dough, softened
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 48 miniature Snickers candy bars, or whatever other miniature candy bar or mint you want to experiment with (or cut full-size candy bars into mini pieces)
  • Red and green colored sugar

Directions
  1. In a small bowl, beat cookie dough and flour until combined.
  2. Shape about 2 teaspoonfuls of dough around each candy bar; roll in colored sugar.
  3. Place 2” apart on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
  4. Bake cookies at 350° for 10 to12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  5. Remove to wire racks to cool.
  6. NOTE: Cookies are pictured with the red and green sprinkles on the upper left side of cookie tray, behind the pecan tart cups.

Alterations


I'd like to challenge someone out there to do the following based on this recipe. Double your cookie dough as Krum's recipe states above. Roll half of the cookie dough out on a pan. Place the mini candy bars over the dough, close together and then cover all of the candy with the other half of the rolled out dough. Press lightly and seal and bake... Why won't I do this for myself? Because I'd end up eating half of the candy bars before baking, that's why. Please try this and let me know if this makes a great bar cookie. Bet it does!
