Cherry Pie Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling

1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple

1 box yellow cake mix

2 sticks of melted butter

1 cup coconut

1/2 cup almond slivers

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Into a 9 x 13 baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray pour cherry pie filling

Pour pineapple, with juice, over pie filling

Sprinkle dry cake mix over pineapple, lightly spreading it to distribute evenly

Pour melted butter evenly over cake mix

Sprinkle coconut and almonds over cake

Bake 1 hr.

Someone gave me this recipe a long time ago but I had never made it. I did today and made a few adjustments. The original recipe had no measurements so I guessed. I also added the Almond slivers. I must have guessed right on the measurements because the piece that is in the picture is now in my stomach and I want more! You will never find an easier cake than this. There is no mixing of the ingredients.

Help yourself. I'm going to play with it some and try using different flavors of cake mixes and pie fillings. Maybe strawberry or apple and a spice cake. It's so easy and can really be doctored up and changed.
