A Cake For The Girls

A great easy cake for having a get together with the girls.......... courtesy of party and potlucks
Ingredients
- 1- 10 inch angel food cake or make your own........... shopping list
- 1- tablespoon unflavored gelatin shopping list
- 1/4- cup cold water shopping list
- 2- tablespoon bourbon shopping list
- 8- egg yolks shopping list
- 1- cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 1- pint heavy cream , whipped shopping list
- 1/2- 3/4 pound of peanu or pecan brittle ......crushed shopping list
How to make it
- Slice the angel food cake you bought or make your own.......into 3 layers...............
- soften the gelatin in cold water, and dissolve over hot water.............
- add bourbon...............
- beat egg yolks until thick............
- beat in sugar...............
- add gelatin mixture, fold in whipped cream................
- chill until mixture begins to stiften....
- spread between cake layers, sprinkling each layer with the peanut or pecan brittle..................
- cover entire cake when done with the cream mixture and sprinkle with the brittle......on top...........
- chill for several hours.............
- yield 1 -10 inch cake
