How to make it

  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup almond sliver and 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the bottom of greased 10 inch tube pan. Set aside the remaining almonds and chocolate chips. Place remaining ingredients in mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes. Fold in remaining chocolate chips and almonds. Pour in prepared pan. Bake @ 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool 15 minutes then remove from pan. Serve with topping of whipped cream if desired.

    I know this good. I have made this many times, except without the almonds, and put all the the chocolate chips in the cake. Also I've never used the cinnamon--I bet that adds a neat taste to the chocolate. It is my son-in-law's favorite cake. I call it "Death By Chocolate Cake" He was always thrilled when I baked it. Thanks for sharing! I'm sending it to some of my groups..they need to know about this one! - Linda
