Black Velvet Cake

- 2 cups almond slivers, slightly toasted shopping list
- 12 oz. chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 devil's food cake mix shopping list
- 1 package chocolate instant pudding (3.5 oz.) shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 c. sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 c. water shopping list
- 1/4 c. oil shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 tsp. almond extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup almond sliver and 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the bottom of greased 10 inch tube pan. Set aside the remaining almonds and chocolate chips. Place remaining ingredients in mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes. Fold in remaining chocolate chips and almonds. Pour in prepared pan. Bake @ 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool 15 minutes then remove from pan. Serve with topping of whipped cream if desired.

I know this good. I have made this many times, except without the almonds, and put all the the chocolate chips in the cake. Also I've never used the cinnamon--I bet that adds a neat taste to the chocolate. It is my son-in-law's favorite cake. I call ...more
