Vanilla Glazed Apple Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening

1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar

1 egg

1/4 cup milk

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup finely diced apple (I use granny smith)

1 cup raisins

Glaze

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 tbls. butter, melted

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/8 tsp. salt

2-4 tbls. milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 400

Cream shortening and sugar in mixing bowl

Beat in egg and milk

In another mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and spices

Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture

Stir in apples, walnuts and raisins

Drop by round tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart

Bake 8-10 minutes

Cool on baking racks

Glaze

Add all ingredients to mixing bowl using enough milk to get drizzling consistency

Drizzle over cookies
