How to make it

  • Whisk milk, egg, and pickle juice together in a shallow bowl.
  • Blend cornmeal, flour, and seasonings in a second shallow bowl.
  • Dip pickles first in egg mixture followed by cornmeal mixture
  • Dip again in egg and cornmeal mixtures to double coat, cover wit plastic and refrigerate 3o minutes to set the coating.
  • Heat oil in a deep saucepan over medium-high to 365 degrees.
  • Fry pickles in batches until golden, 3 minutes, turning once.
  • Drain on paper towels; season with salt.

    Made these tonight with Vlasic dill pickles. Was yummy!
    I added salt to the breading and substituted 1/2 cup of flour for some italian crumbs.

    I like the extra dill in the batter. I love fried pickles. Quaker Steak and Lube sells a version that is just okay. This sounds so much better. High five, my friend.
