Fried Pickles

- 1/3 cup milk shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 T. dill pickle juice shopping list
- 1 cup cornmeal shopping list
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. paprika shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. each, dried dill weed, garlic powder, and kosher salt shopping list
- Dash of cayenne shopping list
- 12 dill pickles spears, chilled shopping list
- 3 cups vegetable oil shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Whisk milk, egg, and pickle juice together in a shallow bowl.
- Blend cornmeal, flour, and seasonings in a second shallow bowl.
- Dip pickles first in egg mixture followed by cornmeal mixture
- Dip again in egg and cornmeal mixtures to double coat, cover wit plastic and refrigerate 3o minutes to set the coating.
- Heat oil in a deep saucepan over medium-high to 365 degrees.
- Fry pickles in batches until golden, 3 minutes, turning once.
- Drain on paper towels; season with salt.

I like the extra dill in the batter. I love fried pickles. Quaker Steak and Lube sells a version that is just okay. This sounds so much better. High five, my friend.
