How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375*F
  • In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add onion, red bell pepper, and mushrooms.
  • Cook & stir until veggies are tender & liquid evaporates.
  • This should take between 10 to 11 minutes.
  • Remove from heat & place in large bowl.
  • Add beef, ricotta cheese, flour, salt, pepper, marjoram & Swiss cheese.
  • Mix gently.
  • Roll out pie crust to a 12 inch circle; place on cookie sheet.
  • Place beef mixture in center of pie dough, leaving a 2 inch border.
  • Gently fold the pie dough edges over the beef mixture, leaving a 4 inch open space in the center.
  • Sprinkle with Romano cheese.
  • Bake for 20 – 35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown, and its filling is bubbling.
  • Let it stand for 10 minutes, then slice to serve.
