Jamaican Beef Patties Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • Brown ground beef, add rest of ingredients.
  • Place salt, flour, butter and shortening in bowl. Blend ingredients finely. Add water to dough.
  • Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough. Cut out dough with glass cup.
  • Place small amount of ground beef on one side of dough. Cover with other side and seal.
  • Beat two eggs brush on patties.
  • Bake at 350 degrees.

    NOTE: If there are those in your house that do not like them hot. Divide the mixture and mark the hot with a dot of red food coloring and the not hot with a dot of green food coloring. When I bought them in the Islands this is how they did it! I think. Not sure I remember.
