Fresh Strawberry Bars

a delicious cookie bar P-B & J cookie base with fresh strawberries who could ask for more ......except for chocolate lol....................... courtesy great summer desserts....
Ingredients
- 3/4- cup butter- softened shopping list
- 3/4- cup peanut butter shopping list
- 1- cup packed light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2- cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2- teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/4- teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2- eggs shopping list
- 1- teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 1/4- cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2- cup strawberry jam shopping list
- 4- cups whole fresh strawberries or halved......... shopping list
How to make it
- preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
- line a 13x9 x2 inch baking pan with foil, extending foil beyond edges........set aside.............................................
- in a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter on medium to high for 30 seconds.......................
- beat in sugars, baking powder, salt until combined....
- add eggs and vanilla........beat until combined..........
- beat in as much flour as you can with mixer
- stir in remaining flour..............................
- spread dough into prepared pan..........
- bake 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned and toothpick inserted near center comes out clean....................
- cool completely on rack...........
- remove from pan by lifting foil..........................
- spread jam over the top of the cake...............
- add strawberries over entire top...........
- cutinto bars
- serve at once or refrigerate up to 6 hours ............
- makes 24 bars..............
- cookie base can be made ahead and frozen.......................
