How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350º f.
  • Cook PASTA according to package directions, leaving slightly al denté.
  • ----------.
  • SAUCE:
  • In small bowl combine SAUERKRAUT JUICE, MUSTARD and CORNSTARCH.
  • Stir until all three are blended.
  • Set aside.
  • ----------.
  • SHELLS:
  • Squeeze meat out of BRATWURST links, into medium bowl.
  • Add the finely diced ONION.
  • Mix.
  • Divide meat mixture into 18 even portions.
  • Insert a cube of VELVEETA CHEESE into each meat portion, making a ball with the cheese hidden inside.
  • Place one meatball into each cooked PASTA SHELL.
  • ----------.
  • ASSEMBLY:
  • Coat 9“x13” casserole dish with non-stick spray.
  • ***If you like your sauerkraut hot:
  • ..... Line bottom of casserole dish with *SAUERKRAUT
  • ..... If you like it cold, skip this step.
  • Place filled shells in dish.
  • Pour sauce over shells. See Photo
  • Cover with lid or foil.
  • Cook for 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with GRATED CHEESE.
  • Cook for another 10 minutes, uncovered. See Photo

  • EXTRAS:
  • Scoop a few shells and sauerkraut onto plate.
  • ..... ***If you chose the cold sauerkraut:
  • .......... Place some sauerkraut on plate.
  • .......... Place stuffed shells on top of that.
  • Ladle some cheesy-mustard sauce, from casserole dish, onto shells.
  • Top with:
  • ..... **Reserved diced ONION.
  • ..... PICKLE RELISH. .

    How amazingly creative. I bet those just jump off the plate. Got to be a crowd pleaser. Of course my arteries are hardening just looking at the pictures but I wouldn't pass them up.

    Oh no.. I have all those ingredients and here it is Father's Day on Sunday. You just know this is a Dad Favorite.
