Banana caramel tart

- Crust: shopping list
- Baked 24cm pie shell shopping list
- Ingredients: shopping list
- Caramel sauce: shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- ¼ cup butter shopping list
- ¾ cup cream shopping list
- 2 bananas cut into thin slices shopping list
- 1 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 2 tbsp powder sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Melt sugar until golden colour in a heavy sauce pan, add butter and stir on low heat. Start adding cream gradually stirring constantly. Remove from heat and leave to cool completely.
- Arrange sliced bananas on the base of your crust and pour the cooled caramel over. Leave until set. Whip the cream and sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread cream over the caramel or use a pastry bag fitted with a 2cm plain nozzle to make a decorative pattern. I tried to make the banana shape as you see in the pictures.
