Ingredients

How to make it

  • Remove seeds and membranes from peppers.
  • (I find it easier if you just cut them in half, keeping the two halves near each other so they can be put back together after stuffing)
  • Beat together cream cheese, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup Mozzarella, salt and chili powder.
  • Fill peppers with cheese mixture.
  • Mix together sausage, 8 ounces cheddar cheese and Bisquick.
  • Take this mixture and form around each pepper, enclosing completely.
  • Dip into beaten egg and roll in coating mix.
  • Arrange on greased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

I made these on Sunday for the Super Bowl and they were FABULOUS! The only problem I ran up against was that my husband came home with 20 of the largest jalapenos I've ever seen. The sausage "batter" was really only enough for 10 and I had to use 2 packages of Shake 'N Bake. Aside from that, they were wonderful! My husband took a couple of leftovers to work and the guys nuked 'em for a snack and he said they were as good the second time around as the first. The guys at work wanted to know where he bought them (I guess they didn't think I was capable of making something so delicious! LOL)
