My Fav New England Clam Chowder

- 4 ounces salt pork (cut into bite size pieces and fry and drain on paper towel shopping list
- 2- tblspn unsalted butter shopping list
- 2-medium onions(diced) shopping list
- 2-cloves garlic(minced) shopping list
- 2-stalks celery(diced) shopping list
- 2-tspn-tyme shopping list
- 2-dried bay leaves shopping list
- 2-pounds potatoes(diced into chunks) shopping list
- 2-bottles clam broth shopping list
- water to cover shopping list
- 11/2 cups heavy cream shopping list
- fresh ground pepper shopping list
- 2-cans whole clams or fresh shopping list
- 2-tblspn chopped flat leaf parsley shopping list
How to make it
- Render in fry pan salt pork let drain on paper towel
- in stock pot add butter and saute onions,garlic,celery,tyme,and bay leaves,for 4 minutes on med highheat
- add potatoes and clam broth and water to cover,bring to boil then simmer covered for 10 minutes remove from heat add cream and clams
- serve in soup bowls top with crispy salt pork and parsley toasted slice garlic baggett on the side
