How to make it

  • Finely (~ 1/8 inch) slice the onions and put them in a small bowl .
  • Finely chop the tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers as shown in the picture above and put them all in the serving plate. Do not waste any of the tomato juice that was released during slicing of the tomatoes.
  • You can now add the onions to the salad plate.
  • Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of salt, add the olive oil, vinegar and the parsley . Mix well with a spoon and serve in small plates.
  • Serve this salad with the main dish, never as an appetizer.

One of those classic recipes that does go with everything. I wonder how all those cultures managed before tomatoes were brought from the Americas.

Delicious! I made the salad dressing & poured it over simply tomatoes & onions. The tomato's juices are an important ingredient! So basically I made this recipe but without the cucumbers. I will make this often.

I served it with Kutadkubilik's "Marinade for Chicken with Honey-Basil Sauce" and French fries. The tomato & onion salad made it a great meal. Thanks!
