Cherry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

A great summer coffee cake....From Relish Magazine
Ingredients
- Streusel shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 2 tbls. sugar shopping list
- 2 tbls. light brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 2 tbls. cold butter, cut into small pieces shopping list
- 3 tbls. slivered almonds shopping list
- cheese Mixture shopping list
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 3 tbls. sugar shopping list
- cake shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 6 tbls. butter, softened shopping list
- 2/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- 2 cups cherries, pitted shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- Coat 9 inch square baking dish with cooking spray
- Streusel
- In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and brown sugar
- Cut in butter until crumbly
- Stir in almonds
- Cream cheese filling
- In mixing bowl, add cream cheese and sugar
- Stir until combined and smooth
- Cake
- In mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extracts until blended
- In mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder and salt
- Add flour mixture alternately with milk to butter mixture and beat until blended
- Pour into pan
- Top with small spoonfuls of cheese mixture
- Top with cherries
- Sprinkle with streusel
- Bake 50 minutes
- Cool on wire rack
