Recipe by Mrtnzangel8: Beef And Cabbage Casserole
Very nice flavor. This almost qualifies as a thick soup or stew. Has a touch of sweetness about it and also tastes like chilli. Was going to say a mild Bbq sauce but settled on chilli.
This is a good dish to make after you have used the outer leaves of a large cabbage to make stuffed cabbage rolls.
I liked it a lot. Made it using the crock pot method. Filled up the crock pot fully but stewed down a lot.

I am flattered. :) And I think Joan would be, too. This is one of those recipes that I loved so much I ran it into the ground making it over and over....time to revisit it, I believe. Your pic is so much better than mine, P7O, I wish it could be the main one. :D Thank you for the great review! I'm curious what you served it over? if anything?

Just scooped it up in a soup bowl.

This definitely isn't a fancy meal but it sure is delicious and homey :) I actually found this recipe on AR as well with a different name and doing it all on the stove top:
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sweet-and-Sour-Beef-and-Cabbage/?prop31=2
I went with that method, just because I didn't get my meat thawed fast enough to do in the slow cooker. Used a red bell instead of green. Mine wasn't as saucy as yours Points but it was just enough to serve it over some white rice. We all ate this right up, except Briauna who picked around the cabbage, KIDS!! Anyway, great recipe!!

Since this recipe was brought up again I thought I'd revisit it too. Maybe I can remember to make some rice as a base. It will be ready at suppertime.
