Chicken Tenders With Creamy Honey Mustard

The Rice Crispies made a great coating! Cooked these on a baking rack so I didn't flip them. Next time I make these I will make up a big batch and freeze a bunch for the kiddos lunch. The creamy honey mustard was too creamy for our taste...it was good with the veggies but we didn't care for it with the chicken..so I pulled out a bottle of BBQ sauce, which went great with these tenders!

    Ooooh....those are purty. ;)

Not enough kick or zip in the sauce for the chicken?

I could make these. But maybe I should make a creamy buttermilk dressing that I so enjoy.

    Aren't rice krispies kinda sweet?

Those DO look yummy! Both BBQ sauce & buttermilk dressing are great choices for dipping chicken tenders in!

Krispies are not sweet. Leastwise not the kind I buy. But 4 cups of them seem like a whole lot for just a pound and a half of tenders. And depending on the price I might just cut up some breasts instead.

Didn't even realize that crispies was spelled with a K!! Anyway, I'm glad you brought it up PSO b/c I forgot to mention that I did use about 2 1/2 cups of Krispies which was the perfect amount.
Keni, I do enjoy honey mustard , but that amount of sour cream made it super thick, just too much for that little ol' chicken tender.... Oh and some chipotles wouldn't have been bad in it ;)

ha! Atta girl ;) Yeah, it might need a lil mayo to smooth it out in another direction and SOMETHING else, even just black pepper, maybe...

You can get off brand crispy rice cereal pretty cheap...it's all I ever use for stuffs. :)

Ha, that's what I used and it is called crispy rice cereal, just looked, that's probably why I used a "c" instead of a "k" earlier....bought it knowing I would only be baking with it...the kids only eat sugary cereal, and I only eat granola type cereal.

Here's the link to Creamy Buttermilk Dressing if anyone wishes to use it instead of the honey mustard.

The "k" instead of the "c" letter, I think is a patent thing and the knock-off cereals tap dance around it.

Ha, well I haven't had Rice Krispies since I was a kid. I probably dumped bunches of teaspoons of sugar on it. That is probably what I remember. :-P

Mother says "that was good, may I have another?" Unfortunately I only made a half pound and ate all but her sample piece.
So it's off to the store.
Made these out of breasts instead of tenders only because of price.
Nice flavor. Used Creamy Buttermilk Dressing for the dip but the chicken strips are good straight up.
I like the addition of S&P to all three of the dipping concoctions. It ensures a well seasoned bite.
Strips were still moist at 15 minutes bake time. It's hard to see the Maillard effect because the color of the rice crispies are already a light brown color.
Might have to use another egg.

Another egg was just enough. I take back my objection to 4c rice crispies powder. It worked out well too.

This is good, glad you liked it PSO! chicken tenders hardly ever go on sale, so I always seem to just cut up my own...
