    Chinese Basil Omelet
This is another recipe found using "quick dinner" and then filtering by eggs. I cut this in half and cooked it in my teeny cast iron skillet - I think its 6". I thought there was going to be too much basil flavor but there was not! It really mellows out. I think a nice bit of onion - maybe green - would be great on this. I don't buy white pepper so I just used black. Very quick and easy and I always have the ingredients around - at least during basil season. :-)

    This didn't stroke my cat.
    It was OK.
Used some fresh basil from the garden.
Cooked over a medium heat and it got too brown before it was set enough to flip.
Is this supposed to be Chinese basil?

The only basil other than regular basil that I know of is Thai basil?

I don't think there is a Chinese basil, pso. There is a Thai basil but I don't know what the difference is.

Guess I missed this a couple of months ago. It looks really yummy FA! I never buy white pepper either. I bookmarked this to try.
Thai basil has a VERY different flavour than regular basil and I suspect the Thai basil would match better with the soya sauce flavour.

I agree that Thai basil and regular basil are totally different in flavor. I LOVE both though :)
