YUMMY!! Just have to say this is so far the best tator tot casserole I've made! Accidentally posted my picture of Keni's Make It Yourself Condensed Cream Of Soups picture on there which I had made to go in this instead of the canned oops! Anyway since I didn't have any cooked chicken lying around so I doubled up on the celery soup. Didn't have any carrots for the first time in my life so I left those out. This is really great!

That seems like a lot of soup and cheese. What happens to it? Do the tater tots soak it all up? Looks like a good breakfast dish.

I had like a huge bag of tots from Sams that was partially gone, so I guesstimated on those, I think I got close though. It really needs ALL that soup and cheese! As I was mixing it I didn't think it would be enough, but once it baked up it was perfect!! Of course the inside tots soak up a lot, but the top tots were super crispy. I had forgotten to say that I threw this in the broiler at the end to get it nice and crispy on top. It was really delicious and easy!!

I bookmarked this and want to try it, ML2C. Im glad you also posted Keni's cream of soup. Ive never had a tater tot casserole. Heck, I havent even made a casserole, yet. Soon to remedy that, though, with this.

I've not only never had a Tater Tot Casserole, I've never had a Tator Tot! :) Looked for them once in my local Grocery store to no avail but since then I've heard I can buy them at Walmart. Hubby is not a casserole fan. Infact, if he hears the word, he will run the other direction. I, on the other hand, think this sounds like great comfort food. May have to rejig the ingredients to make a small one some day just for myself. :) And I've had Keni's Condensed Cream of Soup recipe on my 'to make' list FOREVER. Really love that I could get the sodium content down as compared to the Campbell's cans! I am going to leave out the cauliflower broccoli stuff though. Ick. :)

Hey Janet, i thought maybe some nice Kale would be kindof awesome in this:D LOL Just kidding! I found this recipe Homemade Tater Tots..looks good!!!

Looks very good ML2C!!!..I don't eat pork, so therefore I would have to sub turkey or chicken sausage...like Janet i have never made a tater tot casserole, and never buy tater tots, but this really sounds good:) Do you think it was so good because you used Keni's soup recipe as opposed to Campbell's? I'm thinking yes:)

Was just perusing the tater tots recipes also. There is another one: Tater Tots that has a bake option to reduce the fat. Think I would combine the two recipes.

ROFL @ the kale being awesome Marie. :) That ranks #3 behind the Broccoli and the Cauliflower! :)
ML2C.....sometimes I puree veggies so I'm more apt to eat them but there is no way I'd ever do that with broccoli or cauliflower as even the smell of them makes me very afraid. :)
It is amusing isn't it Frankieanne to learn people's demons.:)
I'm lovin' the homemade tater tots recipes that you guys have unearthed. That'd be really fun to try. Bookmarked.

I have never seen a homemade tator tot recipe, and never even thought of it!! I like the idea of them being baked but like the addition of the cheese in the other one. I'm going with points on combining. the two. Ha ha you hate kale too Janet?? I guess we are just big veggie eaters around here! lol! If only I could get my kids to like zucchini...that's my only problem!

    It's a very nice dish.
Home made tater tots as well as chicken, 'shroom and celery soups. Well seasoned. Had half a pound of 'shrooms left over (minus one 'shroom) after making the soup. Sliced and added them to the casserole.
There's barely enough room in the casserole for all the ingredients but it did not spill over when baked. Used a catch tray anyhow.
Like everything about this dish, veggies and all. Sausage is a nice added flavor instead of hamburger.
Can't wait to try this dish over a slice or two of toast.
Didn't see the reviews icon in the "LIKE" area of the recipe. It should be added.

Like your idea of adding the shrooms! If my family where a fan of them I would have done that too! For the homemade cream of's I have to chop them REALLY small and they don't even notice!!!....So they like them after all and don't even know it!!

Mother liked this dish very much. She did her supervisory job on me when I cleaned up the kitchen to make sure I didn't throw any of it away.
