Tater Tots

- 8 medium potatoes, peeled shopping list
- 4 Tbsp all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 dash pepper shopping list
- 1 ts[ salt shopping list
- Veg oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Finely shred potatoes, then drain by placing them in a colander and pressing out the liquid.
- Pour potatoes into a med sized bowl.
- Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
- Heat 1/4" oil in heavy pan., or use deep fryer set at 350F.
- Form into "tots" and carefully drop into oil.
- Fry until slightly golden.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot or freeze for later use in tater tot casserole.
- *To reduce fat, bake in single layer on a baking sheet at 400F until tots are crisp and golden.

so i finally got to make these. they are much better than parboiling. they turned out perfectly crispy. i froze these on a cookie sheet,threw them in a freezer bag, and baked them at 400. they were awesome w/ grilled hot dogs and homemade mac and che...more

i have made tater tots before but the recipe said to parboil the potatoes first. they got a tad mushy in the center. i will try your recipe soon
