Smoked Paprika Shrimp With Lime Dip

    11/4/2013

SOOOO good!! I've been needing quick and easy recipes, lately, and this fit the bill. So much flavor and I LOVE smoked paprika, anyway. If you can believe this, I didn't add ANY extra heat to this recipe! hehehe

Changed up the dipping sauce just a bit, and I explained that on the recipe's page.

I served this as below, in my pic, here, but with a spoonful of the dipping sauce over top. What a wonderful combo! When I make this, again, I will be making it with the same polenta. :-)

You and Chuckie are hanging out a lot together lately. :-)
Those looks so, so good. I've never seen this recipe before so thanks for pointing it out. I like that you and ml2c mention subbing lemon for lime because its totally rare that I have limes, but always keep a lemon on hand. And I love smoked paprika, too, so I'll have to try these! Gorgeous. I love the little drippings. :)

Thanks, Frankie...those lil drippings were fabulous soaked up with the polenta, too!

I actually prefer lime to lemon for most things, but I always(okay, other than today, I used my last one in tea :( have both on hand. We get our citrus pretty fresh, though, and if it doesn't look good, we don't bother.

The shrimp looks fabulous and is now on my to-do list. Polenta, I'm still not crazy about. I did it once with Chef Robert Irvine on an online cooking thing, but didn't care for it. Maybe a southern thing? It's not off my cooking list, but I have to work into it slowly :)

Did you try it baked, Scooby? I am southern through and through but I don't really like grits all that much... I don't hate 'em, but I don't LOVE 'em like most of the family.

These, though, with this shrimp, done just as I did, were wonderful! Maybe when you make the shrimp you can give Bigshotsmom's a try... I'd be surprised if you're disappointed. :-)

No, these were pan fried. I tried to find the recipe, but he has taken them down. There wasn't much in them to give them any extra flavor like BSM's has. I still have a little left-over corn meal, and I have no clue what to use it for, so I may give it another shot soon. I have a ton of shrimp in the freezer, so it's time to use some :) If and when I get around to trying this, I will give you an update.

Well....I'm honoured that you liked this recipe as well Keni. I know how regimented you are with your bookmarks. :) I haven't made this in awhile myself but just bought a nice bag of shrimp so think it might be time again. Your picture is beautiful and it looks like a very tasty dish altogether but I will admit to being afraid of polenta. Never had it. And if you do make it again, do try it with the lime. I just love that spiciness in limes. Lucky you to get citrus so fresh.
