I LOVE LOVE LOVE cauliflower. Sorry to those who don't, won't say who :)
Anyway this was of course delicious and a perfect side dish to our steak. I like how the garlic was left whole, it get so sticky and sweet :) :) Great dish Dahlia!!! Thanks!

I love cauliflower too. I think the tender roasted garlic would make this sublime. I'm all for the cruciferous veggies. They are a integral part of our dinner plate. Always looking for a new recipe!

I very rarely roast cauliflower, and it's so good this way, not sure why I don't do it more?! I agree, there must be a veggie at every meal, no questions asked :)

I love roasted cauliflower. I just made a risotto with it last night. It adds so much flavor to any dish. I've mashed it with garlic and Parmesan, like potatoes...that's good, too!

I've done the mashed too! It didn't fool the family into thinking it was potatoes, but I think they were okay with it. I heard on the radio that the food trend for 2014 is cauliflower. Last year was supposedly kale?

Yea, I never got I to kale, but it was super popular for a while. My friends tried to get me to make kale chips, but I just couldn't do it. If I'm gonna eat chips, I'm gonna eat chips!

Yum. I love cauliflower. I use it raw in salads. Love that stuff. But - I have never had it roasted nor have I eaten a roasted garlic clove! I still have a lot of things to do!
I never got around to kale either. It seems like I just started seeing it around here lately. My aunt uses it in smoothies. She believes in its health properties, but doesn't like it. She says if you put enough other stuff in the smoothie that you can't taste it.
Lovely picture, ml2c. Sounds like it goes perfectly with steak.

I've made a kale smoothie, and I definitely could taste it. It made it a very weird texture, kinda grainy, and believe me, I blended the crap out of it. I didn't hate it though, but the last few sips were hard to get down lol!

She puts a ton of stuff in there - berries, peanut butter, banana... She says "if you put enough other stuff in there you can't taste that crap!" :-) I think by the time she is done the kale ratio is 1% :-P

From cauliflower to kale. Give us enough time and we will move on to something else. :)
    Is kale bitter?

FA, I don't Kale is bitter at all..it's just a really lovely vegetable. A quick easy meal around here is to saute some minced garlic in evoo, add red pepper flakes, can of diced tomatoes, cannellini beans & some chopped kale (or chard),saute for a few minutes..it's delish..I love to use fresh tomatoes when we have them from our garden in the summer..even better:)

Michelle, you have a FM this time of year! Lucky you:) I hope you enjoy the salad:)

I don't find it bitter either, it can be an acquired taste I guess. My husband likes it in soups but does not like it as a side where you have to eat it on it's own. I think the recipe Marie posted would be a good start Frankie, the sweetness would cut any flavor you my find unappealing, but I think it's delicious :)
