    A recipe from Frankieanne
    Smoky Thousand Island Dressing

I couldn't believe how easy this was to make...but the best part, the taste! The liquid smoke & horseradish really added so much flavor..it's absolutely delicious! I made this as a dressing for chicken tosdadas I'm making for dinner tonight..,it will be just perfect..a little smoky, a little heat, a little sweet, and a whole lot of flavor:) Glad I FINALLY got around to making this, thanks Frankieanne for another wonderful recipe and for the reminder with your IMI Thousand Island Dressing post:)

Note: I noticed Lilliancooks had made this but I couldn't find an IMI post from her:( Maybe she didn't post it...

Hehe, actually my daughter and I were at my son's gym class tonight and she said she was bored, and I had just read your post so I handed her the computer and said okay go through the pages starting from the last page until you see smokey thousand island dressing. She did and it took about 10 minutes...it was about on page 215 I think lol!

So lovebreezy goes through each page to find these? I thought she had some amazing trick up her sleeve or something that we didn't know about!

Yep, I am pretty sure that is how she does it. She said she has a good memory and she looks at the pages here quite often. Seems she remembers where she saw something. I wish I could do that. I can't even remember what year my car is.

LOL! Pretty funny thread! Lovebreezy is doing a great thing and it'll be handy for sure. Good parenting technique with your daughter Michelle! Boredom is a killer.
I've never been a fan of Thousand Island dressing. Ever. And I hate it when restaurants put it on their Reuben sandwiches. That being said.....I LOVE horseradish, ketchup and liquid smoke so I'm pretty sure I would love this recipe. Just have to think of a fun salad to put it on now. I see I had it bookmarked already. Good post Marie!

Okay....tis time for me to eat my words re: never being a fan of Thousand Island dressing. Let me rephrase it......I've never been a fan of store bought Kraft Thousand Island dressing. :)
I made this recipe of Frankieanne's last night to go on a tossed lettuce leaf salad with cheddar cheese, green onions, tomatoes and tortilla strips. I was serving it beside a recipe Frankieanne also has reviewed recently
    Spicy Shrimp Shake N Bake
The star of the meal was the Smoky Thousand Island dressing. LOVE that Liquid Smoke in here. Wow. So cool. All three of us loved the dressing so much that we started dipping our shrimp in it too! :)
A winner dressing recipe Frankieanne! Thanks so much! And thanks Marie for pointing it out to me again! :)

I'm so happy you enjoyed this, Janet! The mix of smoke and horseradish is what makes it so good, I think! I have a hard time with bottled Thousand Island now, too. I make up a batch of Thousand on Sunday afternoons for my weekday salads. Thanks for much for the wonderful review. Dipping shrimp in this is a great idea! :-)

Yay...add me to the list of addicts to this dressing! I used it on a salad the first night and then tonight on these tostadas! Slow Cooker Mexican Chicken Tostadas/saved YUM! Have a little left :( to send with my husband to work tomorrow night to top his leftover tostadas. I like Janet's idea of using it as a veggie platter dip! I will steal that idea from her :)

Oh, thank you, ml2c! I'm happy you liked it. I have that chicken tostada recipe bookmarked, too. I never thought of using that dressing on it though. I just may have to try that. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

Hey No stealing Michelle! :) Yes Frankieanne, I served it as the dip for a veggie platter for the Superbowl. Waaaaayyyyyy better than putting some bottled Ranch out that's for sure. Love this recipe. :)

#1 - Reviews for this recipe:
1 The one on this very page
    2 Smokey Thousand Island Dressing

P.S. I never saw the comments above before--gee, blush, thanks! Honestly my memory only took me so far and then I had to put pen to paper so to speak. I just went through all the pages and saved each thread to my computer. Easier to look for them there than to have to open each page to find one.
