    Sourdough Chicken Fried Chicken
I wanted to replenish my sourdough starter today, but that meant taking some out. I didn't want to bake bread or biscuits so I did a recipe search using only the word "sourdough." Six pages of recipes came up so I went through them all and found this! I do think the starter did add a bit of sourdough flavor! I had one huge chicken breast that I cut in half. Did half of the other ingredients. Nice to find another use for sourdough starter other than something baked.

Oh, good! I'll be anxious to see if the sourdough I thought I tasted was my imagination. :)

Made the cluckers two ways, fried and baked. Fried had a nice crunch to it but not real crunchy. Baked, my waist line appreciates it. Baked @ 350 for a half hour on a cooling rack above a sheet pan.
There is a definite sourdough twang to it. My starter had a lot of twang to it after dwelling in the fridge for a week. More so than when it went in.
Rubbed the seasonings into the bird first before dipping and flouring.
Plated it with Chinese Restaurant Style Sauteed Green Beans/saved which has a standout flavor to itself and Best Ever Fluffy Dumplings/saved which IMHO are biscuits, smothered with Basic All American Brown Gravy
