    Spegetti Sauce
I've been having major cravings for spaghetti and garlic bread lately! I found this using ground beef and basil as the ingredient search which is a good thing as I wouldn't have found it using the word "spaghetti." I cut this in half as I only had 2/3 lb of ground chuck. I used fresh basil and parsley so I used 1 tsp of each. I tasted it after about a 20 minute simmer and it needed more so I threw in 1 tsp each of dried. I've never used beef broth in a spaghetti sauce. Used petite diced tomatoes as I don't care for stewed.

Wish the price of ground beef wasn't so high or I'd be tempted to try this recipe.

It is horrible, pso! I bought the ground chuck last week and it was $6.99 a pound! I made a burger, froze the rest and then made this so I will probably get about five meals out of the pound. If I had a family, I doubt I would buy it at all.

Jeez that's more than the grass fed beef from my meat market!! :\ I don't like stewed tomatoes either! They have a strange flavor to them. I would have traded for diced tomatoes too, or whole. Your picture is making me crave spaghetti! Or (spegetti) :)

That's making me crave spaghetti and garlic bread too FA! Nice that it can cook up in a crockpot all day.

Thank you, Janet. I think the crockpot idea is great, too.

Very easy to do. Just keep the ingredients from scorching during the 1 to 2 hour simmer time while reducing to a nice thick consistency. There are plenty of "from scratch" recipes here at GR.

Thanks, Marie. :) I'm not certain. Maybe its a family joke or something. It certainly isn't going to get found in a spaghetti search though!
