These were soooo good! Used what is left of the fresh basil in my yard. More details on the recipe.

Marie, the trick for me for perfect rice is the stirring. After the water comes to a boil and the rice is added I stir once to incorporate then turn down the heat, pop the lid on and don't touch it until the water is completely absorbed. The more you stir the more gummy it gets :)

Marie, I cook rice just like Michelle says she does. I stir once, too. Don't peek! But - I do have to admit that I found Uncle Ben's ready rice in a pouch on sale and that is what you see here. The Jasmine kind. 90 seconds and perfect rice. Its a bit pricey - pso, don't hate me!! - but I wanted to try it out as it was on sale. Pretty good stuff.

No hate here. I've had to go with the par-boiled rice every so often, just because the way it was incorporated in a recipe I was trying to faithfully reproduce.
