How great is it to wake up, totter out to the great room and the first thing after a kiss good morning your husband asks you out on a date. Yeah thats good. We are off to see SkyFall in our local Imax theater this afternoon. I know a bunch of you have seen it already and also many in my clan. I have heard nothing but good things so my expectations are high.
I suspect dinner will be had at Miller's Field after the movie.
Sean will always be my favorite but there is something about this Daniel Craig character that I find appealing

The theaters have all gone to a "Dine-In" option around our neighborhood. In the 80's there were rocking chair theaters where you would sit in a comfortable chair with a small table that accommodated your pitcher of beer and bad nachos. That got me to thinking what would us home-cooks put on the Dine-In Movie Theater Menu.

Just for fun I went scouting around the GroupRecipe Archives to find some recipes that looked perfect for the menu. What would you add?

    Movie Theatre Cookies
    Praline Popcorn
    Mini Pigs In A Blanket

Laura, what a perfect day! Yes, Sean is my favorite, but there are a few attributes of Daniel Craig I fully support. LOL

We used to have a Dine-in option down the street. We couldn't go watch a movie there....the comfy rocking chairs would put us to sleep and we would be snoring before the end of the movie. They did serve bad nachos indeed.

In the spirit of the day....I nominate
    Cheesy Crescent Nachos or
Lobster Nachos Which would definitely be a step above the normal nacho,

Work at 1:30 for me, home after midnight, Taking another turkey sandwich for supper. More spicy cranberry sauce. A bit of dessert, Paula Deens strawberry pretzel dish. Putting the carcass in the crockpot to simmer for soup.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Laura, What a perfect day you had indeed! Everyone looked to be having just a fabulous time. I have never heard of a Dine-in movie theater like that before they sound really cool. I still like Sean too but I have to keep telling myself to remember he is in his eighties now!!! Enjoy your dinner and a movie day.

Tina, Have a good day at work and enjoy that turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce and dessert. Yum!

We had a wee bit of snow this morning nothing much to speak of really but apparently a few flurries on the way off and on for the next few days. It is 32F out right now so it might end out to be a rain and snow off and on. Shopping is all done and I am having lamb chops with garlic and mint peas and potatoes with more mint for dinner. Both Den and I have colds not bad ones but just enough to be annoying. Oh all our Flyers for this last week and yesterday all have Black Friday Sales on them. I guess they want to cash in here too and get on that band wagon too!

Hoping everyone has a good day and for those working don't work too hard.

Sean will never be anything other than distinguished. I am begging all of you to please not relAte any real life stories about him to me. I prefer to keep the images in my head alive. No one looks good under the glare of People wanting to Inquire(r) about every last detail of their Life.

Hi Tina, I'm with you Sean is my favorite as well, but Lordy, Daniel Craig is right up there:) Something about him really sends me..LOL

Joce, hope you both feel better soon, colds are so annoying...Good that you didn't get much snow..you don't need that today!!

I made Lori's Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels to go with our morning coffee, what a treat! The were easy and oh so good! Posted in IMI if you want to take a look!

A big hello to Lori, Janet, Dahlia, Laurie, Donna, Michelle. Jett, Kimmer...and anyone else yet to come...

I still have leftover turkey, might make some soup...kindof getting "turkeyed" out!!!

    Good Morning Everyone!
I love the James Bond Movies. THE only actor I did not like that played James Bond was Pierce Brosnan. I didn't think he was manly enough. He was too much of a pretty boy. LOL.
I have never seen a Dine-In Movie Theatre. I would think that'd be cool. Have fun at Miller's Field after Laura. I would nominate Dahlia's
    Sliders White Castle Style
for the movie menu. I loved your Thanksgiving video yesterday. Did I miss you or were you not in it? Saw your hubby and your Dad. Lovely home!
Good luck with your long day at work today too Laurie!
Have a good day at work Tina. Am envying you those Turkey sandwiches. I saw a recipe posted yesterday for
    Brined Turkey Breast
that I think would be awfully fun to try with the turkey breast I just bought but I don't know if I have all the ingredients.
Hi Joce! We had a good snow flurry here this morning and it is super blustery out there now. I'd told Jim I'd go for a walk with him but that wind cuts through to the bone so I'm backing out of my offer for today. Was nice to see the flakes coming down though. Sorry to hear both you and Den have come down with colds. Ugh.
Your cream cheese pinwheels with coffee sounds like a really nice way to start a weekend off right Marie.
Jim and I just got back from haircuts. Our hairdresser is retiring from cutting hair and this was our last appointment with her. Very sad. She was a lot of fun.
    Think I'm going to make
    Chalet Style Chicken
for dinner tonight. A good comfort food meal for a cold November's Day. Baked potatoes and then need to think of a side.
Bought my first fennel bulb yesterday. Have never cooked with one. No clue what to do. Any input appreciated. :)

Totally agree about pierce brosnan. Way too sissy and much much too skinny.

Those sliders are perfect movie menu fare.

I actually saw that Risotto recipe earlier this morning Marie and bookmarked it. I've only made one risotto before but Jim and Benj are both very parital to rice. I had also bookmarked this recipe of Tina's previously:
    Clementine Fennel And Olive Salad
Sounds so exotic to me! :) Don't have a couple of the ingredients so can't make it tonight.
Think for my side tonight I'll make a spinach salad. Somewhere around here I have a really nice recipe for a dressing but do you think I can find it? However, I did FINALLY find the Beet Carpaccio recipe with pistachio nuts that I couldn't find back in the summertime. LOL.
Lori....are you doing okay today? She was on FB last night and her car went on the fritz again! :( Hope you had fun shopping up until the tow truck incident. :) Hugs.

Janet, that spring roll recipe looks yummy! Thanks for thinking of me:) Tina's fennel & olive salad looks really good as well! Have you decided what you're making with fennel?
Oh no on Lori's car... Sure hope it's a quick & easy repair...That just, well, sucks. Hugs from me as well Lori:)

Loved SkyFall. I'm so glad they are promising that there will be more Bond action to come. Imax is astonishing. You are really a part of all the action. It takes your breath away. I hated them killing the Mazeradi.

I think I might try that springroll recipe out at some point myself Marie. I often have leftover chicken or turkey and that's a cool way to recycle it. :) I think I'm going to use the fennel in Tina's salad but I have to go to the store and grab the ingredients I'm missing first.
Good movie hey Laura! They offered the IMAX experience at our theatre as well but to be honest I was too cheap to pay the extra $4 or whatever and just went to the regular one. :) Bond's family home was quite something too wasn't it. I was sad to see it go up in pieces as well!

Hi everyone! Still foggy in my head. Our get together was fun and we drank a bit much since we were at home. Can you say hangover?! I'm getting too old for this.. Sorry can't retain enough to respond individually so I'll just shout a big HELLO!!!! to all. Kris went to a football game. His high school team is playing in the state championships here at Ford Field (where the Lions play). I decided to hang back. We might get together with my friend Sarah and her husband (who we stayed with in Chicago the first time) later on. In the meantime I'm just going to veg out in front of the TV and get this cobbler recipe uploaded. Have a great evening everyone and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Love fennel shaved with oranges and black olives, dressed with oil and bit of orange juice. Chopped pistachios are delicious on top.
Fennel is great braised in white wine./olive oil, with pepper and parmesan served with a roasted bird.
Fennel is great shaved on a pizza and wood grilled with a melty cheese and sliced figs and pancetta.
It is a bit stronger when raw, slight anise flavor, If you like parsnips you will like fennel.

I'll have to break down and treat Fred to the IMAX Skyfall. He lives James Bond vicariously.

Pray for my friend Bruce, please. His cancer has spread to his eye. He is a photographer and this is beyond devastating. He is a remarkable kind man and this illness is ravaging him. My heart is stricken with grief for the anguish he is suffering,

I'm home and Liv and Fred are still out on the town,. ?What is wrong with this picture?

Officially done with the turkey sandwiches,. I'm making croquettes in the am and freezing them for a later date. The house smells wonderful, the dogs have been drooling over the crock pot for 12 hours, Poor babies, must have been tortuous.

Hugs to all. See you manana,.
