Burnt peanuts - burnt taste to a pot full of chocolate; what a waste.

I followed these instructions to a tee and my peanuts ended up burned black and all the chocolate has a burned taste. Bummer! These were for a gift exchange and now I have to figure out something else. I don't know exactly what happened, but the recipe was not a success for me!

Can I ask a dumb question. I'm not asking out of sarcasm, I'm really curious. Why would you do this in a crock pot over several hours when you could melt the chocolate on the stove, mix it up and let it set in minutes? Do the flavors meld better this way?

If I don't eat it all myself it sounds like a great gift for hubby's co-workers and our neighbors!!!! I just love easy gifts! I wonder with all the sugar-free sweets out there if it can be made for diabetic's that always seem to get jipped during the holiday's?

I agree with the others. Love my crock pot, and what a great recipe to do while the stovetop is busy making other holiday goodies. Thanks...
