How to make it

  • Place all ingredients except cornstarch and water in a small sauce pan on a medium heat to bring the sauce to a roll, then reduce heat to simmer.
  • Simmer for 1/2 hour. Combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry and add to the simmering sauce. Stir until thickened.

    Great! Thanks for sharing.
This sauce will be great when I will make barbecue recipes. I love grilling and I recently shopped the Kamado Joe KJ13RH Joe Jr Grill, Red from https://www.grilldemon.com/ . The sauce will go great with the barbecue meal.
I hope my family loves the BBQ sauce.

I was unsure if the ingredients would come together and make a BBQ sauce that we like and....IT DID! This was awesome! I basted some Mexican ribs with this and it worked perfectly! My garlic press was in the washer..dirty...so I just finely chopped garlic for this. Mine looks darker than the pic but I did probably cook it about 45 minutes...so that could be it. I did have to leave out the red pepper flakes. Great BBQ sauce! My IMI review Bbq Sauce

My guests loved this! I also used this as a marinade for grilled shrimp and it was delicious! I marinated the shrimp overnight. When I used this as a marinade it intensified all the flavors in the sauce. It really brought out the cinnamon and allspice. I loved it! I'll try it on chicken next time!

I made this to go with grilled scallops wrapped in bacon. I made it as written except I doubled the garlic and I used 1/8 cup of honey instead of 1/4 cup white sugar. I also doubled the cinnamon and allspice. I strained the bbq sauce before adding the slurry. I don't like lumpy sauce. I love the dark rich color! The cornstarch thickened it nicely!

This was VERY good! It has a nice balance of sweet and tangy! My hubby gave it a thumbs up! I can't wait to serve it to my guests this weekend! I added my photo =)
