Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat one side of grill to medium-high and the other side to low.
  • COMBINE ingredients for the relish in a bowl; set aside.
  • DIVIDE the ground turkey and hamburger mix into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty slightly larger than the bun to allow for shrinkage. Season patties with salt and pepper and coat both sides of each one with nonstick spray.
  • GRILL burgers, covered, over medium-high heat until cooked through, 3 minutes per side. Top each burger with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Grill, covered, until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes more. Remove burgers from the grill and tent with foil.
  • GRILL buttered buns, covered, over low heat until lightly toasted, 1-2 minutes. To serve, place burgers on buns, and top with mustard relish.

What an interesting combination Shandy. This is going to be delicious and I am goin to make them. When the Swiss Miss meets Fidel burgers. The relish sounds delish but can’t recall ever seeing dill pickle relish here. I’ll make some up. Sorry but I’m not a fan of American style mustard but English or Dijon would work. I know you probably don’t have it in WA but I think I’ll try half beef and half lamb mince; we don’t get turkey mince here. I think the Swiss cheese is really going to set this off. Thanks for a great post. RJ

Printed and saved the Tostones and the Cuban Burger recipes. I will be contributing these two recipes to this weekends dinner at a friends house. I used to have the Plaintains at a restaurant years go...I loved them. Can not wait..we always love to try something new. Thank you.

This looks good. I like the idea of mixing the turkey with the beef.

I may try this sans the jalapeños, since they destroy my stomach... but these sound like they're worth the trouble. Great post!
