Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix together sugar, corn syrup, butter, and 1 cup cream in heavy pan over heat.
  • As it heats, gradually add remaining cream.
  • Stir frequently as mixture begins to thicken. Cook to 254 degrees, or hard ball stage.
  • Pour into a buttered 8" square pan.
  • If nuts are used, sprinkle into bottom of pan before pouring.
  • When cold, cut into small squares. Makes about 5 dozen.

    Hi again! I had to come back and thank you for your recipe as I made these last night. It took me about an hour and 15 minutes and they were just wonderful. They were creamy in texture and just delicious. I'll have you know that there isn't one candy left! I poured the caramel on top of whole walnut halves. My family and I really enjoyed every last piece and I was already asked to make more! You recipe is a family favorite here! Thanks so much for sharing it.
