How to make it

  • Combine cumin, peppercorn and coriander in heavy medium skillet. Stir over medium heat until fragrant and toasted, about 8 minutes. Cool slightly. Finely grind toasted spices in the blender, add salt, sugar and garlic powder. Transfer to bowl or container.

Huh I usually make my own adobo which I use on pernil and chicken and such. A question though. What else can you use coriander with?? I've found it to be a fun new spice, but I've not found those one or 2 signature things it's just perfect for!

Wonderful. I made this a few days ago and used it for my Won Tacos recipe! Easy and great, traditional flavor. I did add a lil Mexican Oregano and smoked paprika and used brown sugar for the sugar. I doubled everything but the salt, and it was plenty salty for us. Thanks for sharing it. It will be a staple blend. I took a photo, like always, but I've misplaced it. ;) As soon as I find it, I'll post it. Thanks for the recipes, Share Bear!..... Photo added!

I've used this flavor combination in my cooking before, only with brown sugar. I've never bottled it for future use though. What's the shelf life on this?

Wow! I like this too! Beats buying prepared stuff with goodness knows what preservatives in it. I have all this in the cupboard. Great post! Thx.
