Sweet Heat Steak

- 2 Eye of round steaks (about 8oz. each) shopping list
- 1/4 cup Chianti (or similar red wine) shopping list
- Frank's Red Hot hot sauce, about 2 tbsp shopping list
- honey, about 2 tbsp divided shopping list
- 1/2 tbsp butter shopping list
- steak Rub: shopping list
- sea salt shopping list
- garlic (granulated) shopping list
- onion (granulated) shopping list
- black peppercorns shopping list
- crushed red pepper shopping list
- dill seed shopping list
- fennel seed shopping list
- mustard seed shopping list
- coriander shopping list
How to make it
- Place steaks in glass dish (sealable). Pour wine over steaks. Coat each side with hot sauce. Coat each side with steak rub. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat butter in skillet on stove-top over medium heat. Sear steaks on each side for 2 minutes.
- Turn broiler on 425F with broiler pan in oven. Transfer steaks to broiling pan. Pour half of honey in a circle about an inch from outer edge of steak. Broil for 3 minutes. Turn steaks, pour remaining honey on using same technique. Broil for another 3 minutes. The steaks will be true medium at this point. If you'd prefer them to be cooked longer, feel free.
