A variation of the old crank style ice cream maker we used as kids (ok, maybe not you young'uns). Here's a summer recipe that will thrill your kids.

Will try this one. Love homemade ice cream, just don't have the machine. Now I don't need one. We drink alot of coffee, so now I'll save the cans. Thanks for sharing:)

I remember this well! Also remember the crank ice cream churn. I remember I didn't mind at all having sore arms turning the crank. Ice Cream is my favorite dessert of all time. I make it even in the winter. Thanks for posting this one.

Thanks, I don't have an ice cream maker, but would love to make my own.

Used to do this when I was a kid, too, only we used a syrup bucket with a handle and turned it back and forth inside a washtub filled with ice and salt! Do you go as far back as me, Chet ?? lol !

I remember doing this in Kindergarden. I swear, the first warm day in Wisconsin I will be outside in the back yard making ice cream with my nephews!
