Ingredients

How to make it

  • Prepare garlic bread to your preference if using fresh garlic and oil...OR combine garlic powder and Italian seasoning with melted butter. It will become thick and nearly paste like.
  • Brush heavily on cut sides of loaf of bread. See Photo
  • Bake at 450 for about 7 minutes, until beautifully, crusty brown. See Photo
  • Meanwhile, brown sausages in medium, heavy skillet(I use cast iron), breaking up well and cooking through.
  • Add tomatoes, drained. See Photo
  • Let simmer about 5 minutes.
  • Add cream to sausage and tomatoes. See Photo
  • Stir well and continue to simmer another 5 -7 minutes to warm well and slightly thicken.
  • When bread is done, immediately layer slices of cheese over garlic butter on bread.
  • Serve with creamed sausage mixture spooned over bread and eaten open faced. (I cut each half loaf in half, then spooned, but you could spoon, then cut, if desired :)

sounds sooooo delicious - i am sure i will like and have this often - good quick tasty meal to have when not much left in fridge - always have garlic bread or rolls and sausages in the freezer - i can see this being a hit.

Oups, "merda" is a really bad word in portuguese :)))
Other than that this is a great recipe!
