Hot Fudge Cake

- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups hot water shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, white sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. Spread in ungreased 9 inch square baking pan.
- Combine brown sugar and 4 tablespoons cocoa; sprinkle evenly over batter in the pan. Pour hot water over all; DO NOT STIR (even if you think you should!).
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm.

A 2:1 ratio of sugar to flour? How could it be overly sweet! (He said, dripping with sarcasm.)
Nice and rich with plenty of syrup on the bottom.
