Chocolate Banana Bread

Another recipe cut out of a magazine and thrown in the "to make" box. Finally pulled it out this last weekend!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 medium) shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, bananas, milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add to the banana mixture and mix just until combined. Fold in nuts, if desired. Transfer to a greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan.
- Bake at 350F for 60 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
- (I confess that I forgot to add the milk to my loaf. It came out just fine, although if one added the milk, the texture may come out differently than my picture. My loaf also took 75 minutes to bake.)

Really easy recipe. I usually have to take 5 minutes off noted bake times due to my oven, but these loaves stayed in for 65 minutes. Very moist and dense without being heavy. Smells like chocolate cake!! :) I'd highly recommend this - I'm not a huge ...more
