I could never figure out why my mother called these Canadian Brownies - until my daughter and family moved to Detroit. On a visit, we wondered into a chain called Hortons, and there in the bakery case was an "International Bar"...it looked strangely... More

Ok, you both will have to share the Nanaimo bar recipe - is it Canadian also? jo_jo, I've only been to Horton's the one time, but the International Bars were definitely a winner!

Nanaimo Bars are wonderful. I messed up my first batch so badly, my Canadian friends had a good laugh at my expense. This looks like something the skating club would devour next event. Bookmarked and saved. Those kids can do some damage serious skating after some of these.
