How to make it

  • Sift dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
  • Add milk to beaten egg and melted butter.
  • Pour into dry ingredients, mixing only til smooth.
  • Pour into muffin tins (2/3 full)
  • Mix topping with a fork until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle on top of muffins.
  • Put spoonsful of applesauce on top of each indenting.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

    I think my oven needs to be recalibrated. These muffins took closer to 40 minutes for the tops to color and the muffin to cook through. Good flavor, tender crumb.
