How to make it

  • in a bowl mix the sifted flours and salt. Rub in the butter until mix ressembles coarse bread crumbs...Add the water, mixing until the dough forms into a ball ...turn out onto a floured board, and knead lightly, and then roll until paper thin.....cut into rounds 4-5 inches in diameter or depending on the desired size of empanada...place a spoon full of filling on top with 2-3 peices of raisins and a slice of boiled egg....moisten edges with water and fold to make half moons, crimp edges or seal with a fork.
  • Then deep fry in hot oil until golden...crust should be flakey
